ÿþ<table width="250" border="1" align="center" cellpadding ="0"cellspacing="0" bordercolor="#000000" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td height="200"><p><br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br><img src="obitpics/wilmajohnson.jpg"width="145" border="1"><br> <span class="style37"><SPAN STYLE= "" >Wilma Johnson</SPAN> <br> - </span></p><table width="240" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td class="style20"><div align="justify"><SPAN STYLE= "" >Wilma (Holden) Johnson, 93, Valliant, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 in Paris, Texas.<BR>She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Val-liant; member of the Order of Eastern Star, Oklahoma Retired Teachers Assoc, Lifetime mem-ber of Texas Longhorn Assoc and a member of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.<BR>Wilma was born August 26, 1915 in Battiest, OK, the daugh-ter of Walter Holden and Janetta (Griffin) Holden and had lived all of her life in the Valliant area. She married Dick Johnson on July 1, 1939 in Hugo, OK. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, and two brothers, Geoffrey Holden and Dean Holden.<BR> Wilma was a homemaker, rancher&rsquo;s wife, and elementary schoolteacher teaching for 33 years in McCurtain County. She enjoyed cooking and flowers. Wilma loved her family, espe-cially her children and grand-children and would travel many miles so that her children could see their father, World Cham-pion Bulldogger, Dick Johnson, perform.<BR>The family would like to give their deepest thanks to Wilma&rsquo;s good friends and caregivers, Pat Thompson and Terry Smith.<BR>Surviving relatives include: ne son, Dale Johnson and wife, Carolyn of Garvin, OK; three daughters Margie Vermillion of Valliant, Joe Ann Vermillion of McAlester and Terry Sanders and husband, Phil of Heavener, OK; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.<BR>The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM. Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the funeral home.<BR>Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Method-ist Church of Valliant, with Bro. Oscar Wilkie officiating. Inter-ment will be in Valliant Ceme-tery.<BR></SPAN> </div></td></tr></table></table>
